  • “Snow” Falls on the Middle East Next Week

Apple recently announced that, if all went according to plan, Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard will go on sale in the Middle East in early September.

Reports out this weekend indicate that shipments could leave for the Middle East as early as tomorrow.

    According to iStockAnalyst:

Snow Leopard will go on sale by first week of September in the Middle East through Arab Business Machine Ltd (ABM)'s network of Apple Authorized Premium Resellers, Apple Authorized Resellers and Apple Authorized Retailers.
The Middle East could prove a huge market for Mac both now and in the future. This weekend, I have been absorbing many online arguments about how the growing “openness” of the Middle East and its potential for commercial and technological expansion are ripe for Apple’s increased presence and focus.

Although China may ultimately be the fastest-growing overseas market for Apple, it wouldn’t come as a shock if the Middle East eventually illustrates a strong appetite for Apple products.

For now, the iPhone has been a great example of this point.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple's iPhone has to date sold more than 26 million units worldwide. And although the US and Europe accounted for a majority of sales, surprising markets have emerged in Latin America, Canada and – you guessed it - the Middle East.
