  • New Snow Leopard Disc Art Discovered

    The fine folks over at GearLive mention that the new Snow Leopard build 10A432, seeded just yesterday - the one rumored to be the GM seed - contains a new install icon. What's exciting about this? These install icons in the previous years have been pretty much consistent with the Disc Art of the final product!


    As depicted in the icon, the disc with Leopard like with Purple 'space' background has been replaced by a nicer and cleaner white one with a picture of Snow Leopard (the animal :P).

    So is it really a new Disc Art or just a change in the icon? No idea but this does look nice!

      When I first saw this, I thought it was just some crappy Photoshop job.

      Personally, I think this looks absolutely terrible.

      Apples has become lazy this year, no change in iPhone design, no UI change in OS X and now this shite icon!!!

      Do you really care so much about a bloody icon. An icon that you'll probably only see for a few seconds ever. What do ye want, a WWDC to announce a glorious 16x16 pixel icon painted by Michelangelo?

      Apart from maybe adding a front facing camera I dont see Apple changing the iPhone design in any big way. It might get slightly thinner but thats it. What do you want?
      I dont think anyone expected a huge UI change in Snow Leopard, they have seemed to standardise most of the UI across the board though. Again I dunno what sort of UI change your looking for.

      Yeah, Jesus! What's wrong with Apple? Putting a white-backgrounded picture of a Snow Leopard on an operating system named... Snow Leopard?!?!?!?! That's worse than Microsoft's Windows 7 marketing!

      Correction... Absolutely nothing. Again, something like this should hardly be considered news....

      And to those crying that the icon looks like crap... right, what I really want is for Apple to spend more time making the disc look pretty so their costs go up, causing our costs to go up as well. Keep wishing... it will happen.

      The intro video is the same as leopard!

      Very impressed so far though. Don't get your hopes up, it really is just a quick leopard.

      Only things ive noticed are everything loads quicker + my fans come on less

      Actually, in true Snow Leopard spirit, the new intro.mov is 19.6 MB compared to Leopard's 39.1 MB. I'm not joking.
