  • iTunes 8.2.1 Available for Download

Today Apple released a new version of iTunes which does nothing more than have bug fixes, accessibility improvements and addresses an issue with the verification of Apple devices. A side effect of this update is the inability to sync the Palm Pre.

We do not know how this will affect jailbroken devices, pwnage tool, etc... so please be careful updating.

[Thanks to big pimping for the heads up]

itunes is not made for palm pre, it is made for iphone's and ipod's so it's okay that they block palm pre to sync with itunes

The only way to really know if this version of iTunes is going to affect jailbroken phones is to do a full restore and then try to re-jailbreak. Of course it still syncs!

      Caution!!! Caution!!! Caution
Ok so I installed iTunes 8.2.1 this morning, and I just finished a successful complete restore, jailbreak, unlock and sync.

      Here are my details:
      -iPhone 3G 8gig
-3.0 firmware restore through iTunes 8.2.1
-Jailbreak w/ redsn0w 0.7.2, because 0.8 just never worked real well for me
      -Unlock w/ ultrasn0w 0.8 to T-Mobile Prepaid US
-Also did a option+click .ipcc update to get T-Mobile prepaid SMS/Tethering/Edge working

So far so good for me, but I guess it still remains to be seen if the update affects 3GS's or future unlock for 3.1 firmware. Hope this helps anyone that accidentally updated.

A new update! Oh boy, oh jee! Golly gosh!

Do you think it will fix the time it takes to open iTunes?

Do you think it will fix the initial mini system crash everytime I open iTunes?

Do you think it will fix the album art taking ages to appear (not to mention the album art is never the right one)?

Do you think it will fix the horrendous lag when I select 'applications' or 'Ryan's iPhone' too ambitiously after I plug my phone in?

Do you think it will fix me having to add new albums, folder by folder, to avoid it adding everything again, including album art checks?

Do you think it will fix iTunes maximizing itself every 30 seconds when I update or restore my iPhone?

      Do you thin.... oh whatever.

Ok I just realized that my sync'd apps are not launching. Stock apps run fine but apps I downloaded from the app store and re-synced are crashing emediatly. I haven't determined the cause yet but please stay clear of the update!!!!!
You always should reset your phone after a new app is installed.
