  • Weekly Jailbreak Update: February 15th, 2010

It's been one hell of a February so far, chatter is huge, and for the most part, development is quite on the unlocking front for 3.1.3. None the less, here are your updates for this week.

    What's New

iBlueNova - Here's a new app that I'm sure you folks using bluetooth will really enjoy. This app will allow your iPhone to send files over bluetooth! I remember when I had an old Nokia that did this, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to develop the same on an iphone. This one goes for a whopping $5.99. Ideal if you do tons of bluetooth transfers, but personally, I have never had a need to transfer files via bluetooth. I got Wi-Fi for that. However, if you had a really old phone that had bluetooth, you could exchange files... god knows what, but you could. lol. If you bought iBluetooth in the past your key will work on this app.

PushSoundBlock - This one simply blocks the sounds that are triggered when you receive a push notification. FREE.

FindMePhone - a MobileMe FindMyiPhone enhancer. This app will allow you to get more usage from your FindMyiPhone feature available with your MobileMe subscription. Best part: FREE $1.99.

StrangerChat - I don't even know what to say about this app. Basically you just talk to a stranger... I have no desire to try this out though. So good luck. lol

    Updates:

    biteSMS
    Kirikae
    AndroidLock
    aTimeTool
    PkgBackup
    SBOrganizer
    iBlacklist
    FuzzyBand

iblueNova is made by the same MeDevil that made the now defunkt and broken iBluetooth. for all of us that cashed out for ibluetooth its really sad to see the same developer come out with a new 2.0 version, naming it something else and charge you again for something you allready had. they wont respond to any inquiries you give . theyll just send out an automated mailing saying they received your email and theyll respond as soon as possible. which is never.

another thing to mention is that the package isnt signed. so im curious to how legit it is? ispazio works alot with hackthatiphone which has alot of untrusted packages

      @matthew1111

yeah totally sucks when your ripping people off
      .

the new version seems to have alot of advances.[can only look at pics because description is all in italian i think] but that doesnt justify scrapping an entire project launching a new one doing the same exact thing. saying its the first of its kind [which its not] and recharging everybody like no one is the wiser.

I also really appreciate these jailbreak posts. I find it hard to find news about the jailbreak community.. or at least ones I can trust. The more jailbreak news the better, its a tough hobby to follow. And I rarely see specific jailbreak news/apps on some of my favorite tech sites.

Darn, missed it Free - paid 1.99 but worth it. Slow on the updating [thanks Apple], but so so awesome to have on my iPhone. Now I can keep track of the iPhones that are setup with our MM acct. Been waiting for this one.

Am I the only one that uses Google Latitude and the Longitude app to keep track of where my iPhone is? (I hid the Longitude app so it won't be messed with by the person who stills the phone or whatever).

Also use it to track my brother on HIS iphone when he borrows my car.
