    Well, that didn't take long.

@MuscleNerd reported last night that he was able to use SHAtter to make the new Apple TV restore a pre-jailbroken IPSW. This video, released on the Dev-Team Blog, shows @MuscleNerd using ssh to access the Apple TV, running commands as root. According to @p0sixninja, it only took @MuscleNerd 30 minutes to do it.

The "not ready for prime time" jailbreak just shows what's possible, as there's no way to load and run apps on the Apple TV… yet. However, @StealthBravo has confirmed that you can mount the Apple TV in iTunes using a microUSB cable, and TinyUmbrella has already been updated to allow users to save Apple TV SHSH blobs. Late last night, @StealthBravo found DFU mode: plug in a microUSB cable (no power cord), hold the Menu and Down buttons for 6 seconds to reboot and then immediately hold Menu and Play buttons. The team is working with devs from the original Apple TV, and it looks like @nitoTV has a list of most if not all of the headers.

Things are about to get interesting. Make sure you pick up a microUSB cable when you get your Apple TV!

Your computer does not have access to the same catalogue that hulu+ has.

hulu.com and hulu.com/plus are two entirely different things.

I just recently jumped onto the Hulu+ board and it is awesome. It's catalogue is massive of back seasons and great shows.

A show my gf loves they have all 12 seasons of it on there. Being able to watch it on the iPad and iPhone is another great feature. In fact I used it at VW while my car was getting service. Otherwise I would have had to watch some soap that was on their lobby tv.

      Yes, it is "boss"

On another note, I wish the Netflix on aTV had a feature like on the PS3 that marks already watched episodes. (I haven't checked out what queue options it has, I'm just talking about on the actual episodes list)

I wish hulu had a kind of profile setting. Like for people that are in the same household. I start watching something then have to leave for work but the gf starts to watch something.

Just wish we could sign into a different profile on the account and just have the pop up to start where you left off at instead of where the other left off at and then hunting down what you were watching and what episode.

I have an old apple tv I wish they would jailbreak that or somehow add air play to it. It sucks having spent 229 and no update!

The old AppleTV was hacked long ago. It is not built on the iOS so you won't get any of the new stuff but there are some great apps/mods out there for it already.

As long as I can watch Family Guy, The Simpsons, and American Dad then I'm good.

Just wondering- With the new iToys recently released (iPod & Apple tv) has this taken the jb devs' time away from finalising the jb for the iPhone 4?

That's why I love the mmi forums. There's always another perspective out there that you've never considered that moves your mindset. Thx!

I'm not exactly interested in AppleTV itself, but am interested in seeing what cool innovation DevTeam will do with it ! I can see some cool JB apps, such as being able to watch YouTube on the tube.

I just REALLY hope apple TV will NVR evolve into Apple becoming a digital cable provider. As if At&t for the iphone was expensive, and as if Apple doesn't control enough already . The Supreme courts and Consumer watchdogs would sic and eat Apple as if they were apple fritters! Besides, if Apple TV were to be able to be hooked up to a cable provider in the future, we all know that Apple would NOT hold back on anti-hacking security; hacking Apple TVs would probably become a federal crime...

Well, until that day (which hopefully never happens), we should just Apple TV as is.
