  • All You Could Ever Want to Know About Steve Jobs. And Then Some.

Steve Jobs' heart isn't easy to win, especially if you're a writer looking to pen the first authorized biography of Mr. Mac himself.

Well, it turns out that Steve Jobs may have finally succumbed to the journalistic advances of former Time editor Walter Isaacson. Since the iPad isn't out yet, you likely didn't read the The New York Times report that Isaacson has been personally selected by Mr. Jobs to write the biography some have waited years for.

He is the author of two best-selling biographies, “Einstein: His Life and Universe” and “Benjamin Franklin: An American Life.”
In other words, Steve Jobs will be in good literary company.

The book is already in the works and will cover everything from Jobs' childhood to his present role at Apple. Although there is no reason to believe that Steve Jobs' health has taken a turn for the worse, some will naturally see this news as an indication that Steve Jobs wants his story told (in accordance with his blessing) while he is still around to participate in an authorized story-telling process. As the New York Times is quick to point out, Steve Jobs will turn 55 later this month.

According to the report, Steve Jobs is even planning to take Isaacson on a tour of his childhood home. Apparently, Mr. Jobs is feeling particularly sentimental these days. And while the release of a Steve Jobs authorized biography likely won't generate the hype of a major new product reveal from Apple, millions will certainly be eager to learn more about the life and times of a private man who's innovation and commitment to technology profoundly impacted all of our lives - whether we recognize it or not.

The biography will be available as an eBook exclusively for Amazon's Kindle.

    Just kidding.

Great, now the haters (ignorant and confused admirers) begin their BS "fanboy" comments.

I like Apple, i have an iphone and an ipod. I also had a mac. I just dont like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates for that matter. Havent you seen Pirates of Silicone Valley? They are both the biggest crooks in the industry and everyone praises them for being so smart, so innovative, etc.. But they steel everyone elses hard work to benefit themselves. Hello app store was stolen from Installer and they made Billions. Are most of the apple fanboys blind to all of this. Apple likes to hide all of there mistakes via an UPDATE. Oh this update just fixes security issues yeah right tell me another one. I can go on and on and its just not Apple either. I like Microsoft for one reason they will admit when they mess up (VISTA) for example. Apples Leapord had problems but they dont admit it they bring out Snow Leapord.

Wow! If only this were coming out this week..
I have to do a 7-10 page research paper on someone famous and explain key moments that helped them become famous..

I was really looking forward to do Steve Jobs and I was going to use iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business. But I would much rather use this..

I can't wait to pick this one up. I am not a full on fanboy of Apple but I do admire great CEOs. Steve Jobs is one of the all time great CEOs. There are amazing stories behind Jobs and Gates bringing in the computer age.

Charles H. Duell, from the U.S. Patent Office in 1899, said "Everything that can be invented has been invented." There are many people and companies that laughed at that; many, many years later Apple and Microsoft have helped prove that wrong even more by having people push forward in design, innovation, lifestyle, and many other areas. Not just their own companies but all companies.

I think there are many people that would agree with me on Steve Jobs work as a CEO, including non-fanboys.
