How to Add a Proximity Sensor-Based Activator Action to Activator
If you're a jailbreaker, then there's just about zero doubt that you've heard of Activator, the popular extension for jailbroken iOS devices that lets you perform actions with customizable gestures of all kinds. It comes with all kinds of gestures, but you're probably well aware that other developers are able to add additional gestures that you can take advantage of also.
One of the better ones out there is ProximityActivator 2
, which is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Stilldabomb that allows you to take advantage of your iPhone's proximity sensor to perform actions on your iOS device using Activator.
With it, you can assign an action to waving your hand over the proximity sensor. Of course, your proximity sensor will be on more of the time with this tweak installed, but battery life won't take too much of a hit. The device will really only look for your hand while it's unlocked, and not while it's idly sitting in your pocket.
For example, we have set an action for setting an alarm when we wave our hand in front of the proximity sensor. So now, when we wave our hand in front of the proximity sensor, iOS will launch the clock application and reveal the alarm-setting interface so that we can configure one.
ProximitySensor 2 is easily configured from the Activator preferences pane in the Settings application or from the Activator application itself on the Home Screen. you can download it for free right now from Cydia's BigBoss repository. Check it out!
