'Nuus' Disables Home Screen Landscape Orientation on the iPhone 6 Plus/6s Plus
If you're like me, then you probably have a pet peeve of when the Home Screen on your iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone 6s Plus seems to rotate on its side while on the Home Screen at the most inopportune times. Whether you're laying sideways in bed and trying to tap on an application icon when the screen randomly rotates on you, or you're just moving around too much and you confuse that gyroscope, the end result is the same – having to spend seconds of your time, all the time, to put your Home Screen back to portrait orientation.
New in Cydia is a free jailbreak tweak called Nuus
by iOS developer Cornelius Koetting, which disables the landscape orientation mode that is enabled from the factory for the Home Screen on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus, as shown above.
The tweak is intended to let you keep using landscape orientation in your favorite applications, but keep the landscape orientation mode away when you're on your Home Screen for a better user experience for those that dislike it. Obviously, this isn't a tweak for those that like being able to rotate their Home Screen on its side, but there is really no benefit to being able to do it.
Nuus doesn't have any options to configure, and if you're interested in giving the tweak a try, you can download it for free right now from Cydia's BigBoss repository. Check it out!
