  • AT&T Stores Open at 7am June 24th for iPhone 4

The exclusive news of AT&T's cash back for iPhone 3GS plan wasn't the only thing we received from our AT&T ninja yoTelefonoTresG yoTelefonoCuatro this morning.

Among other things we received the above flyer confirming a 7am store opening for AT&T locations on June 24th. Mark it on your calendars! Other things confirmed: existing customers can buy one iPhone 4 per phone line and new customers can only buy one iPhone 4 total.

I just talked to an ATT rep here is Lubbock, TX and he said that on the 24th, theyre making two lines, one for preorders and another for those who did not. I wonder How quickly the preorder line will go? and I want to bet that the preorder line will be 10 times longer than the line of those who didnt preorder it.....
did this at the apple store last year and apple let the random "I wanna iPhone" crowd in before pre orders so this is why i see no point in waiting in line.

Unless apple and AT&T allow people other than the account holder to get the handset. I will NOT DRAG THE WIFEY OUTTA BED AT 6am AGAIN.
she's the one on the acct but I'm an authorized user.

      Decisions...decisions...

Ship to home, ship to work, ship to store...10min/customer does seem to be a lot of time, but how many pre-orders at a time could they take?

i can tell you that is not going to happen so if you have to be somewhere do not depend o. AT&T or apple to be ten minutes.

Last year at an apple store in las Vegas (there are THREE apple stores in Vegas btw) it took us 40 minutes in line as they let 10 people into the store who did not pre order then 5 that did.

They sAid that yes our phones were guaranteed but this is how they run their preorders.

ARE YOU SURE!!!! under no circumstances I wanna loos my unlimited and I have a feeling AT&T is so generous for this reason also. once they have less Load on their server it might help them a lot for drop calls.

      what you guys think

I completely agree, theres no way on earth that they will move customers through that fast. especially knowing that the itunes system and all the phones being activated is gonna clog up etc... so more like 50 minutes like u said haha. definately preorderin n sending to work (due to the shady a** neighborhood i live in)

So is Apple only credit card only also? What about walking into AT&T and paying cash. If not then I guess I'll just call on the day of release and see if any are available.

Even if I preorder I'm not sure if it would be best to send to work or store seeing how it's fedex.

Fedex delivers late to the office and there's been a time when they didn't make it before the warehouse closed.

Don't wanna wait at home all day on a phone, so I may see about just sending it to the store.

If you send it to the store, will they just let you take it home and activate it if you already have an AT&T account?

READ THIS. Just stop by a AT&T store in fort smith, ar and they told me if you pre order you and it is ship to the store you can not get your iPhone till the 25th. But if you pre order and have it ship to your house you will get it on the 24th if mail is on time. Thought y'all should know that.

So check your local store were you live because that is how they are doing it here I guess.

That's just from what I read.
If your Debit card has a master card or visa logo you are fine. Your debit card (if it has a master card or visa logo on it) ALWAYS (always...no, always) will act as a credit card via any purchase. Ever notice how when you use your debit card if they ask you "debit or credit?" theres a reason for that. The reason is A) if you use debit and put your pin number in, you are automatically queued for the funds to withdraw from your account (9/10 times its automatically withdrawn from your account) and if you B) use credit, it will post to your account within 1-2 business days from the purchase date as well as allow you the card holder not to be liable for any fraudulent purchases on your account which are covered 100% by Master card and Visa. Trust me, your fine. I have a degree in finance and a minor in economics and accounting so trust me, your good to go. Not to mention I worked in retail sales as a store manager for 7 years (thats 7 years worth of christmas and back to school seasons at the mall so I've dealt with my fair share of credit cards).

hey guys, i have a question i havent seen asked yet. i'm eligble to upgrade and am currently on an individual plan. i was planning on ordering (2 separate) iphone 4's, one for me and one for my fiance and was going to add her to my contract after she got it, is this possible without adding her to my account before-hand? or will i have to add the line, port her current # over and then let her activate? she lives in wisconsin and i live in virginia btw.

Yeah I knew about the Visa/MC logo thing running it as credit gets you their protection but thought that all debit cards had the logos on them now.

One thing about using your debit as a credit card, sometimes they'll do hold funds to see if enough money is there and not release it right away. Just a little tidbit

Something to think about with shipping it to home/work is that you activate it on itunes. I remember last year with the 3gs i got in store the guy said anyone activating it through itunes was waiting up to 3 hours since there were so many people trying to activate their phones.

I have a question. I'm getting prepaid credit cards and depositing $600 ($300 32GB and $200 16GB) into them. They have the Visa on them and Ive made online purchases before on them. So my question is should I be okay to preorder the iphones? Someone please help me if you know.

I however do not want to lose my 30$ unlimited plan, I am also on the same AT&T contract with my GF, if we upgrade her contract to an iPhone 4 like its going to be her's, can I just switch sim cards with her and give her my 3G after she upgrades her contract? And by doing so I get a new iPhone 4 and keep my Unlimited 30$ Data Plan? And she already told me yes to this I just want to make sure it works with you experts first.
If you already have the $30 unlimited plan, you will continue to have it unless you choose one of the new plans, so if your eligible to upgrade, no problems.

Ok looks like as long as we have the Visa/MC logo we can order.

How does the $18 activation fee work. Do I pay that at the time of preorder or will it be on my AT&T bill.

Just trying to figure if it'll be $199 + tax or $199+tax +$18 activation fee

It will be added to your bill.
