  • Steve Jobs Makes WWDC Promise

Steve Jobs must have a lot of free time on his hands these days. Lately, the Apple chief has been quick on the draw and prompt to answer concerned inquirers via email. The latest example comes from our friends at MacRumors who shared a vulgarity-laden message from an Apple fan who wanted to know from Jobs if Apple's announcement at WWDC would be sufficient to blow Google and the Android team "out of the water."

In response to the question, Jobs succinctly articulated that we "won't be disappointed." It's a bold claim that likely foreshadows the announcement of the 4th generation iPhone and echos previous promises by Apple's chief that the new iPhone upgrade will be "awesome" and far superior to previous models. And if the features and amenities anticipated for the next gen iPhone actually materialize, all the hype will certainly be validated.

In recent weeks, however, there have been so many leaks and iPhone prototypes uncovered in the wild, that it has never been more difficult to assess the legit from the fake pieces of "news" circulating. But with only two weeks to go until the start of WWDC, the iPhone rumors will probably continue to fly - a situation we observed just this weekend with "photographic evidence" of the 4th generation iPhone being available in white.

For now, all we know for sure is what Steve Jobs is apparently promising, and that's something big that won't "disappoint."

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly how he has it set up.

that for sure how he does it! You think he has the time to go through all stupid emails he must get... thats just marketing that "he" replies, I'm sure steve doesn't even read them... It's like the tennis star Roger Federer who has a fb fan page where updates new where he is and what his traing is up to but thats for sure not him doing that

      1. Take good photos
      2. Multi task
      3. Theme
      4. facebook integration
      5. play more file formats

(oh you only asked for 3? sorry about that)

Its not just OS vs OS. OSX is only on the iPhone, so were restricted by apple both hardware and software wise. Android is on several devices with different hardware so there's more scope. I will be VERY dissapointed if the new iPhone doesn't have a really good camera...

You might not believe me after that apple bashing post, but I honestly do prefer iPhones over android phones. I just wish apple caught up with the times a bit and were such tyrants over the phones that WE paid for.

LOL I agree 100%! I think they're reading to much into the whole " you wont be disappointed" statement. Like you said, what else would a man say that's running his own company.

Well as long as Apple is giving us good stuff i'll keep rooting for Apple.
But this has one bad sign for Apple, I wonder how it will manage after Steve Jobs gone???
Jobs may be a dictator, but apparently his tyranny works, because Apple is doing extremely well under his rule...you have to admit he's one hell of a business man. I too will be interested to see how well Apple does after Jobs is gone.

You know, people can fake these conversations easily, using the anonymous' app from Cydia and 2 emails. Not that this is one of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were.

I think it's more realistic that there is a group of "Steve Jobs" that are paid to respond to the inevitable flood of emails [email protected] receives on a daily basis.
If you think the man himself has the time, let alone be even bothered, to sift through fan mail, even if it is to reply with only a few words, then your very naive.

Once again...name three things that Android can do that the iPhone can't.
      1. My 3GS takes great pictures.
      2. I multi-task any app at any time. I even text message from within any app and from a locked phone on the lockscreen.
      3. I have been running themes since the days of Summerboard.
      4. Facebook is being integrated to the springboard right now. Twitter as well.
      5. VLC for the win

Can you run iPOS on the Android? The iPhone can run Android.

I completely agree with the closed system on the iPhone needing to be opened up by default. The day I can't jailbreak the iPhone is the day I won't own one.

I can't use Sprint. Their coverage is too sparse for the places I travel. Sucks too, because Boost Mobile is dirt cheap. $60 a month with their new Blackberry unlimited everything. No one can touch it.

Four of those five things cannot be done without jailbreaking. Everything listed for Android is native. Taking into account that only a small percentage of iPhone enthusiasts jailbreak their phones, that isn't much of an argument.
