  • Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Getting iPhone Release

Sega's much-anticipated upcoming game, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, has been revealed today to be getting an iPhone/iPod touch release, in addition to console releases. This has been rumored since the website first went up this past February, as a graphic was found on the server relating to a possible iPhone release. This will be the blue blur's first premier game on the iPhone, alongside the previously released classics, Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. (Oddly enough, there is no planned release for Sonic 3 & Knuckles at this time.) It is unclear whether this release will be identical to the console releases, or a watered-down mobile edition (as many cell phone games are). In addition, the release date, originally slated for Summer 2010, has now been changed to an even vaguer "late 2010."

Sonic 4 is the direct sequel to Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and the first game of the original series to be released in over 16 years, as well as the first to be released only as a downloadable title.

More information is available at Sega, Sonic Retro, and The Sonic Stadium.

This just shoots SEGA back to the forefront of the videogame creators in my opinion.

i really wanna play it, but it cost like 6 bucks on the app store!
      $6!! Oh ****!

I remember when Nintendo 64 first came out. Gamestop was selling those games for $104 a pop. Now we complain about paying the cost of a Mcdonald's extra value meal for a good game we can play absolutely anywhere.
