  • Magic Charger for Magic Mouse

With CES winding down, there are still a few products out there worth a second look. Mobee Technology is releasing an induction charger for Appleís Magic Mouse that includes a battery replacement unit. Once installed your mouse will charge simply by resting it on the Magic Charger cradle. It doesnít even matter which direction you place the mouse on the base, as long as its resting on the unit. A full charge takes about six hours and should last you about six days of normal use.

The base station has an indicator light to let you know when the mouse is charging. As long as you leave your mouse on the base station when not in use, you should never have to worry about a low battery warning ever again.

The Magic Charger has been designed with the traveler in mind as well, as it only measures 0.35-inches thick. As long as you arenít going to be away from your desk too long, you should be able to leave the base station at home without worrying about running out of juice on the road.

Although the price of the Magic Charger is not listed on the companies website, Engadget is reporting that the unit will cost $50 when itís released in October. Pre-orders start September 15, so itíll be a few more months until can throw out your old batteries. The Magic Charge will also be available in the Apple Store when it comes out later this year. Iím a little surprised that Apple didnít come out with this first.

I see that lol. I thought about regular rechargable batteries but like how this would just have a sort of dock to set it in to charge.

      @ashrafkhalifa, thanks..
I have tried those options but what I'd like is a replacement internal battery that wirelessly charges.
I'd like to leave my [brand] case on my iphone 4 as well, since i have a 2 year old running around the house, I don't think the charging cases offered can protect against a stair tumble or upstairs-to-downstairs chuck.

      Thanks though

It is a cool idea, but I didn't even pay that for my MM. Lower the price and we'll talk. I will stick to my regular rechargeable batteries as they do seem to eat them up fast.

Wow, my Magic Mouse will last 1.5-2 months with replaceable AA batteries. No need for something like this. In fact I have never used rechargeable batteries for any standard device.

Get a copy of BetterTouchTool (Free in Alpha right now, but works great). Not only can you micro-control the tracking, but you can also program every gesture you could think of with it for the touch-top.

Got it for my Magic Trackpad and never looked back. Have all my own custom gestures now, and keeps me from touching the keyboard to surf the web or 100 other little tasks that I do constantly.

I wish I could set a certain URL to launch with a gesture

Have you looked at Bettertouchtool SB?

Cannot use magic mouse or magic trackpad without it myself.

Yea I am using that but I dont see an option where you can do a URL without opening a new window

While doing some research to help you I am getting blocked by worked filter because everyone is using blogs for webpages. But I did find an app to do just that but it is little older so I am not sure if it will work on newest OSX.

      Flying Meat: FlyGesture

Will do more research when I get home.
