  • Steve Jobs Action Figure Nets $2,500 on eBay

Several weeks ago, reports first surfaced about a life-like Steve Jobs figurine that captured the ire of Apple and prompted the company to direct its legal team to swiftly put an end to sales of the product. The folks at MIC Gadget had experienced such a great reaction to the little action figures that their M.I.C Store quickly sold out of the first batch of 300 limited edition Steve Jobs figures ($80 each).

All the attention, however, would put the nails in the coffin for this particular product. Shortly after Apple's legal team interjected itself, the M.I.C Store posted the following on its website: "We have just received an email from a law firm representing Apple.Inc. Apple has informed us that this phenomenal SJ action figure, has not consented to the use of Apple’s copyrights and trademarks, therefore they request us immediately to cease the marketing and sale of this figure."

Although a single word about the Steve Jobs action figure was not mentioned in the immediate days and weeks following the little statue's post-Thanksgiving disappearance, today the world has witnessed the comeback of the biggest action figure character since G.I. Joe. According to sales results on eBay, more than one of these figurines has been sold for a whopping $2500. Although the Steve Jobs action figure didn't net millions on the auction block at Tiffany's, $2500 is not a bad turnaround for the collectors lucky enough to purchase one for $80 when they were still legally accessible on the open market.

^That reminds me, it's more of a figurine than an action figure.

How pathetic must ones life be to buy a figurine of an electronic company president, AND FOR THAT PRICE. What's next Bill Gates or Warren Buffett? Well at least those guys are kind of super heros with what their doing in the world with their money. Guy should have taken the money and bought a hooker. I'm thinking a guy who buys this is not big with the ladies. LOL

Just a reminder, this is a total they sold for at $80 each. I know there's a lot of people thinking that's how much one went for. Bit if you read the article (or even the headline), you can tell that's not for ONE figurine. $80 is still ridiculous though, LOL.

Oh good. I knew nobody was that stupid.

Oh wait....this is Apple we're talking about. Steve Jobs could take a ripe enchilada-soaked sh!t in a pretty box and stamp it with an Apple logo and people would slice off their left testicle to get a bite of the iCrap!

You realize that someone already corrected me and I did the corresponding facepalm, right?

Some people have WAY too much money on their hands apparently.

You mean that garbled response from Jorge? Either way people get corrected more than once on here multiple times because everyone reads the posts and then responds and sometimes other posts get skipped. Nothing to worry about, my response was better than Jorge's anyway.

Not too much money to pay if you're a die-hard Apple fanboy. You, me, and anyone else with their sanity still intact would have paid MAYBE 1/100th of that price. I'd probably spend $25 if it also held my iphone and had a built-in dock to charge it.

I wasn't angry, just saying. Yeah, that's probably the only way I'd buy it too.
