  • PwnageTool, redsn0w, & ultrasn0w Updated for 4.3.3 Untethered

I received a tweet in my Twitter inbox around 2:15 AM PST from @iphone_dev and @ultrasn0w saying that PwnageTool, redsn0w, and ultrasn0w are updated to support 4.3.3 untethered.

The original exploit, found by @i0nic, was not patched when Apple released 4.3.3. However, there were some kernel crashes and other related issues that kept these above programs from rendering an untethered jailbreak. The team has finally fixed it and now it's hit the mainstream. All iDevices are supported with the exception of the iPad 2. For downloading the respective software, refer to the Dev-Team Blog and the following download links:

    redsn0w for OSX
    redsn0w for Windows
    PwnageTool - Torrent

ultrasn0w can be found on Cydia. If you don't have the repository added (or accidentally deleted it), the repository is: repo666.ultrasn0w.com

redsn0w for Mac OSX can be confirmed as working for my device: iPhone 4 GSM 32 GB v4.3.3

***UPDATE*** sn0wbreeze has been updated to support 4.3.3 untethered along with 4.2.8 on Verizon as well.

Anyone who has updated to 4.3.3 and used Rednow, do your multitouch gestures still work? I added the gesture enabling code to my plist file so i did not need xcode. Worked great on 4.3.2 and 4.3.1 but since upgrading yesterday and redsnowing it, no dice.

Think Rednow has caused the problem.

Multitasking Gestures works fine and now can be enabled via Redsnow... so no more Multitasking Gestures over airplane mode on settings...now its on the place where it should be.. Settings-->General-->Multitasking Gestures On/Off.

If you want to be able to unlock then use Pwnage to create a custom FW.
If you will never need to unlock then just update and use RedSn0w.

Which is why I answered your question together with a link showing what FW/BB can and can't be JB/Unlocked.

I'd love to upgrade and jail break if someone could walk me through it and guarantee that it will work and tell me what might go wrong and If there might be any problems, ( such as restarting the phone and having to use the comp to boot it up) any one up to help me?

Only way I know to preserve you baseband is to use PWNAGE Tool which is for Mac. I just jailbroke to 4.3.3 with no problems. Simple as 1,2,3

1st there are no guarantee in jailbreaking your iPhone.
I have been jailbreaking for a little while and have never had a problem.
      You must follow instructions though.
You can go to iclarified.com and find complete instructions for your iPhone model.

Lol I'm sorry, I didn't mean a guarantee, I meant like a 95% chance of working at least

      Maybe jailbreaking isn't for you.

If you don't need to unlock just upgrade in iTunes and use RedSn0w. Whats the problem?

If you have a mac use PWNAGE Tool. I have an iPhone 4 that started at 4.0 and is now at 4.3.3 and the base band is still @ 1.59.00 and that's with several updates in between. It has never failed me

I have a iPhone 3GS that's at 4.1 jailbreak with 5.14.02 baseband (modem firmware) btw...and I want to upgrade and then jailbreak at 4.3.3 as I've said before, So one question do I need a custom firmware or the regular one or both? And also what would be the size of it, I got one already but it's 420mb but someone elses is 680mb, the only difference is that he has iPhone 4... I'm a windows 7 user btw

Before we go any further you need to answer Confucious question.

Do you need to unlock the iPhone after updating to 4.3.3?
