  • PwnageTool, redsn0w, & ultrasn0w Updated for 4.3.3 Untethered

I received a tweet in my Twitter inbox around 2:15 AM PST from @iphone_dev and @ultrasn0w saying that PwnageTool, redsn0w, and ultrasn0w are updated to support 4.3.3 untethered.

The original exploit, found by @i0nic, was not patched when Apple released 4.3.3. However, there were some kernel crashes and other related issues that kept these above programs from rendering an untethered jailbreak. The team has finally fixed it and now it's hit the mainstream. All iDevices are supported with the exception of the iPad 2. For downloading the respective software, refer to the Dev-Team Blog and the following download links:

    redsn0w for OSX
    redsn0w for Windows
    PwnageTool - Torrent

ultrasn0w can be found on Cydia. If you don't have the repository added (or accidentally deleted it), the repository is: repo666.ultrasn0w.com

redsn0w for Mac OSX can be confirmed as working for my device: iPhone 4 GSM 32 GB v4.3.3

***UPDATE*** sn0wbreeze has been updated to support 4.3.3 untethered along with 4.2.8 on Verizon as well.

Also don't forget to set the AFFINITY to 1

Hacktarded1 gave good instructions on this!

To fix the hanging on "uploading ramdisk" issue for Windows 7 users Follow these insturctions. Worked for me and fixed the isses I was having.

      WIN 7 CPU AFFINITY = 1

right click on redsn0w.exe and run as admin......(no need for xp compatability mode)

start redsn0w.exe. do nothing else for now.

then hit alt+ctrl+del to bring up task manager

      choose the Processes tab

      locate Redsn0w.exe and right click

in the drop down menu go to

      set affinity

check box next to CPU1 only uncheck all other boxes

      use redsn0w as usual

Something else that work with redsn0w if you make it compatible with vista service pack 2. That seemed to work for me. However after everything is done installing it reboots then goes blank. LIke it went back into recovery mood. And no matter what I do I cannot seem to get it out of recovery. Anyone else have this problem?

Considering upgrading from 4.1 to 4.3.3

But want to make sure the Win7 issues are resolved. Don't feel like messing with it if it's going to not work.. I guess I'll keep an eye to see if what Hacktarded1 said fixes the problem or if there are more issues than that

anyone know where in iTunes do you find the.ipsw file? I am having trouble finding it.

But, anyone know an update on the iPad 2 jailbreak efforts? My poor shiny device is begging for some necessities like SBSettings!
      From the dev team:
iPad2 update: The iPad2 jailbreak remains under development. As you may know, the original exploit @comex developed in the first week of the iPad2 release was mysteriously fixed by Apple within days of its development. Partly because of this, donít expect much public discussion of the iPad2 jailbreak until itís actually finished and ready for release (and please avoid asking about it). In all liklihood, it will be a userland exploit like the first (unreleased) one, not dependent on bootrom dumps. The first one canít be released even for those with the original 4.3 firmware due to legal (distribution) reasons.

Main reason I try to keep up with the latest update is a lot of the time you cannot download apps from the apple app store.

I keep on getting the 3194 error when i restore to 4.3.3 using Sn0wbreeze. But when I restore back to 4.3.2 (also with Sn0wbreeze), it works fine. Any help??

Off the top of my head...

You need to go into folder options and check show hidden folders

      But it's

      C > USER > (Your Profile) > AppData > Roaming > Apple Computer > iTunes > iPhone Software Updates

not 100% sure but I that's where mine is on Win7

Just my personal opinion, I don't think you will see a jailbreak or newer unlock until the iPhone 5 with the A5 processor comes out. I don't think the Jailbreak Dev's are going to waste an exploit for iPad 2 and maybe lose it for iPhone 5

Why don't crApple just realise jailbreaking is here to stay and put less effort into stopping jailbreaking and more effort into releasing a better more stable iOS.

you need to point the Apple's SHSH server using Tinyumbrella.
If you don't know how to do it check out iH8Sn0w's twitter, he has posted a link to a pastie explaining what to do.

Anybody knows why I'm keep getting the "iphone isn't eligible for this build" error when I'm trying to custom restore from 4.0.1FW to 4.3.3FW (Pwnagedtooled)? Thanks

FYI: 3GS with 5.13.04BB, I already tried going into hosts file and deleted the apple IP address
