Dropbox iOS App Updated With Numerous Improvements for Users
On Monday, Dropbox released an update for its widely-used iOS application. Dropbox, in case you're unfamiliar with it, is a popular solution for storing files in the cloud rather than locally as a means to keep file backups and to also to make files readily available across all the user's devices that are using the application. Monday's update brings the application to version 3.3 in the iOS App Store.
Version 3.3 brings with it the ability to search within Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files directly through the new higher fidelity file previews right from the application. This will make it easier for a user to find information within a document, and not just find the document itself.
The update also gives the application support for even larger animated GIF images – the application received initial support for smaller animated GIF images last month, as we reported
– and makes use of better caching methods in order to prevent using unnecessary amounts of storage space. The application will also make sure to open wherever you left it the last time you closed it.
Various bug fixes and performance improvements are also noted in this update. If you're an existing user, you will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Dropbox for iOS for free from this App Store link
