With so many carriers putting limits on the amount of messaging, phone calling and data that you're allowed to use, you might want to be very careful to prevent unwanted use of your texting, calling, and data.
You can be careful the good old fashioned way, or you can call upon the help of a new jailbreak tweak called Confirm2Proceed by iOS developer elias to help you make sure you don't accidentally go over your limits and get charged too much on your monthly phone bills.
What this tweak will do is display an alert message before every message or phone call that you send, as shown above. With this new protection, you will never accidentally call someone or accidentally send someone a message every again, and therefore, you'll save minutes, texts, and data.
Confirm2Proceed is compatible with all kinds of applications including Messages, BBM, WhatsApp, Viber, Mail, Instagram, and more. The things Confirm2Proceed can do for you for each application to prevent unwanted data, texting, or phone usage include:
- Ask to send message
- Ask before voice recording
- Ask before calling from the dialer
- Ask before calling from the recents
- Ask before calling
- Ask before sending e-mails
- Ask before liking photos or videos
- Double-tap to confirm
- Ask before calling
Confirm2Proceed adds a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can configure the tweak to your liking:
From here, you can enable sound and vibration alerts whenever the tweak alerts you before you make a decision that could eat into your carrier limits. You can also configure what you will get alerted from on a per-application basis. In each preferences cell, there is an Apply button that you need to tap on in order to save your changes for those applications.
The developer notes that support for more applications is coming in the future.
In our opinion, this might get a little bothersome after a while always having an alert pop up each time you want to send a message or initiate a phone call, but for those that are really worried about using all of their resources each month, it could be a way to limit yourself.
