If you're used to using the Phone application in iOS, then you know that there's a Recents tab in the application that shows all of the people that you've called, or have called you, and one-tap access to calling that person again.
Unfortunately, many of us live in situations where nosy people can cause issues with any kind of histories being made available. For those that want to keep their recent call history hidden without completely deleting it so that it's still available to them when they need it, there's a new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia for that called HiddenCallLog7
by iOS developer Timm Kandziora.
This tweak will allow you to hide or show your entire recent call history on demand without ever deleting this history. It can be effectively used to fool anyone into thinking that no recent calls were made or received recently, although the owner of the device will always know that there is a history (just hidden).
As shown above, the tweak works by letting you tap on the Edit button in the interface, and then tapping on the Clear button. After you tap on the Clear button, a pop-up menu comes up letting you pick between clearing (deleting) the whole recent call list, or just toggling hiding it. If you tap on the hide option instead of the clear option, the list will be hidden and it will look like no recent calls have been made or received. You can repeat the process to show the list again.
HiddenCallLog7 has no options to configure. If you would like to give the tweak a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. You must be running iOS 7 to install this tweak. It's also worth mentioning that because the tweak works in the Phone application, it's only compatible with iPhones – not iPod touches or iPads.
