  • FXNOW and New Simpsons World Said To Be Coming to Apple TV Soon

More content will soon be coming to the Apple TV due to a new FXNOW channel. According to two reports by iLounge, the new channel will be released on the platform sometime in the near future. Television Critics Association Press Tour with TV writer Jason Lynch, has announced that the FXNOW channel will be available on the Apple TV platform in the next 12 months. Apple’s iOS devices already carry the FXNOW channel on an iPhone and iPad app, and on-demand video streaming is offered from FXM, FX, and FXX networks.

There have been previous reports saying that Simpsons World, an announced service that will offer on-demand content from The Simpsons TV show in the fall, will be launched as another app on Apple TV. Lynch responded by saying that Simpsons World will be on the FXNOW channel looking to be released with mobile apps online on Apple TV. He noted:

Technically Simpsons World isn’t a standalone app. In Oct, it will be accessible via the FXNOW app & simpsonsworld.com.
All 552 episodes of The Simpsons and new interactive features and content designed for the app specifically, will be offered via The Simpsons World apps and website. It is said that in order to access the new app, users will need a cable subscription to FX.
