  • Five Great Jailbreak Tweaks for Improving Your iOS 7 Notification Center Experience

With Notification Center being such a vital part of your iOS 7 notification experience, it's worth spicing the feature up with the power of jailbreak tweaks. In this post, we will be showing you five of our favorite Notification Center mods that are available for a jailbroken iOS 7 device.

Just a quick note before we get started; these tweaks are all compatible with the Pangu version 1.1.0 jailbreak for iOS 7.1.x, and will work with earlier iOS 7 jailbreaks, such as evasi0n7, as well.

    1. NCFold $1.00

First up on our list, we have a free jailbreak tweak called NCFold by iOS developer Minuit. NCFold lets you eliminate clutter from your iOS 7 Notification Center by collapsing notification sections. If you have a lot of notifications from multiple applications, this tweak will come in handy by allowing you to filter your notifications on the spot. You can easily have access to only your Messages notifications and tone down all of your Facebook and Twitter and other notifications with this tweak. Best of all, there are some customization options for making the tweak appear and behave just how you want it to. You can ready our full review of NCFold at this link.

    2. StatusPeek 99

Another part of Notification Center that could always do with improvement is that Notification Center Grabber. iOS developer Noeliel came up with a great solution for making the Notification Center Grabber more useful while pulling down in full-screen applications, such as games, called StatusPeek. With this jailbreak tweak installed, rather than seeing a Notification Center Grabber when you pull down from the top of the display in a full-screen application, you will see your Status Bar instead, which offers much more useful information than the Notification Center Grabber does. You can then continue pulling down on the Status Bar to open Notification Center completely. The tweak does come with some customization options for appearance and behavior as well. You can read our full review of StatusPeek at this link.

    3. Volume Mixer 99

An add-on for Notification Center called Volume Mixer by iOS developer VladMax Soft can also come in handy for those times when you need better fine-grained control over your device's several different volume settings. This add-on will add five different volume sliders to your Notification Center so you can easily control individually the following volume types for your iOS 7 device: Ringtone, Audio, Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth headphones, and Phone call. You can enable or disable any of the sliders on demand, as well as customize their colors and appearance. You can read our full review of Volume Mixer at this link.

    4. NCObey FREE

Next in line, we have a free jailbreak tweak called NCObey by iOS developer Max Katzmann. This tweak is especially useful for quickly getting to the tab of Notification Center that you want to be in. There are three tabs in the iOS 7 Notification Center: Today, All, and Missed. This tweak lets you easily open Notification Center to any of these tabs that you want to open to depending on where on the Status Bar that you swipe down from. If you swipe down from the top left, you will launch the Today tab. If you swipe down from the top center, you will launch the All tab. If you swipe down from the top right, you will launch the Missed tab. It's a nice little way of ensuring you get right where you want to be when you're ready to open Notification Center. You can ready our full review of NCObey at this link.

    5. BetterNC7 FREE

Last, but not least, we have a Notification Center customization jailbreak tweak called BetterNC7 by iOS developer AppleStuffTutorials. This tweak lets you customize what feels like every aspect of Notification Center by letting you hide/show certain elements. You can also control how many notification preview lines are allowed to appear for notifications, and more. It's just the tweak you need to make Notification Center look the way you want it look. You can read our full review of BetterNC7 at this link.

All of these tweaks have been tested to make sure that they're compatible with the latest Pangu 1.1.0 jailbreak; they may not all be compatible with one another.

The first two say $1 and $.99 respectively, but I believe they are both free.

My bad. I was confused as in the first or second sentence you say NCFold is free and I have NCStickyBar which does the exact same thing as StatusPeek, except free.

I wasn't very happy with the feedback of that tweak. It only seemed to work for 50% of the people that tried it. Not worthy enough of me to recommend it again!

      It works perfectly.
      Literally no faults at all.
I'd love to hear the issues being spoken.

In the comments of our original review article, it had seemed a number of people had issues running the tweak.
