More than likely, you use Wi-Fi on your iOS 7 device(s). If so, then you can probably benefit from a new jailbreak tweak called NotifyWifi 7 by iOS developer ichitaso. This tweak has been available for quite some time for iOS 6 and earlier, as we showed you last August, but the new version now supports iOS 7 with the same and even more features.
After installing the tweak, you will get new features such as:
- Being notified when you connect to a new Wi-Fi network
- Whitelisting Wi-Fi networks that you don't want to be notified about
- Blacklisting Wi-Fi networks that will turn Wi-Fi off when you connect to them
- Tap on notifications to open Wi-Fi preferences pane in the Settings application
- The SSID of the network you connect to is automatically copied to the clipboard
One way we would recommend this tweak is white-listing Wi-Fi networks that you know so that you aren't notified of networks you already know you're joining. If you're aware of Wi-Fi networks that your device automatically joins that you don't want it to, you might want to blacklist those Wi-Fi networks so you can guarantee that your device isn't sending sensitive data over unwanted public Wi-Fi networks. This way, you will only get notified of networks you haven't joined before. You can white-list up to 5 Wi-Fi networks, and blacklist up to 10 Wi-Fi networks.
The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure a few options, as well as configure your white-list and blacklist:
As well as configuring your white-list and blacklist and enabling or disabling the tweak on demand, you can also enable or disable copying Wi-Fi network SSID information to your clipboard each time you are notified of joining a new Wi-Fi network.
NotifyWifi 7 is a free download for those that already own NotifyWifi, but if you don't already, you can download NotifyWifi 7 from Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for 99¢.
