  • Apple is Making How Many iPhone 6 Units Ahead of September's Launch?!?!

According to the latest industry buzz and supply chain chatter, the iPhone 6 will launch in the U.S. and select global markets on September 19th, keeping with the tradition of an early fall release.

But one thing will be different this time -- the number of units Apple will have on hand at the time of launch. Based on a slew of reports coming to light on Friday, Apple wants to have a staggering number of iPhone 6 units ready to ship by the time launch day rolls around.

So how many are we talking about exactly? 68 million. Media outlets in the far east say Apple's iPhone 6 inventory on launch day will be far greater than anything we've seen before. It's a move that will hopefully mitigate any likelihood of global product shortages, which have become quite commonplace in recent years.

"A 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is expected to be joined by a larger 5.5-inch version," says Andrew Williams of TrustedReviews. "With different screen sizes and different resolutions, it would mark the most significant hardware change since the seriesís inception."

Good! Tired of reading headlines after launch about shortages. Will we still see people staking out the stores 2 weeks in advanced?? HAHA! Too funny.
