If you've been looking for a nice filesystem browser and file management application for your jailbroken iOS 7 device, and you want a nice interface along with great features and support, then check out a new application called Filza File Manager by TIGI Software.
Honestly, if you're a die-hard iFile fan, then there's probably no swaying you to try something new. Luckily, Filza File Manager gives you an all-new user interface experience. It has been designed for iOS 7 with a nice flat interface and is universal for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
You'll find that Filza File Manager comes with a very usable feature set. You can easily navigate your system's files and add, move, edit, or delete any of them. There is also built-in support for compressing and decompressing files, running shell scripts and applications, installing deb files and ipa files, viewing all kinds of file types, and much more.
You will notice right off of that bat from the two screenshot examples above that you can choose between having a list view for your files, or an icon view, much like that of Finder in Mac OS X. You can also filter files by name or date and search for specific files. At the bottom of the interface, you will see buttons for settings, opening multiple tabs, and more.
When you go to open multiple tabs, you will see what looks a lot like the running tabs interface in Mobile Safari. You can tap on the "+" button to open more, or tap on the "x" button to close them. This is great for moving files from one location to another quickly:
The application also comes packed with editing features for any files that you select. You will be able to do things such as copy, move, rename, or delete files. You can also create zipped folders, view the properties of a file, send the file via e-mail (or open with third-party applications on your iOS device):
In the settings tab, you can configure a number of options to make your Filza user experience match your needs:
Some things you will be able to configure include:
- Choosing whether you want normal or fast scrolling speeds
- Configuring a Home directory that will always open when you open a new tab
- Hide or show hidden system files
- Show application names
- Configure settings for your Air Browser, such as port and enabling or disabling it
- and more
That Air Browser feature that we just mentioned... yeah... it's pretty cool. With it, you will be able to log into your iOS device right from your computer's Web browser. The only catch is that your two devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. You'll find that when you enable the option, Filza will give you an IP address that you need to enter into your URL bar in your computer's Web browser. Once you do that, you'll be brought to your iOS device's filesystem right on your computer:
From here, you can navigate your iOS device's filesystem on the big screen, upload new files, create new folders, search for files, and more. It'll feel like being in Filza on your iOS device, only on your computer instead. This makes it super simple to upload new files to your device without needing to SSH or use USB connections. Instead, it uses a simple Wi-Fi connection.
Soon in the future, Google Drive and Dropbox support, as well as other awesome new features will be coming!
