Apple to Soak Up More Sun in North Carolina
Apple is really looking to soak up the sun this summer. All the evidence proving as much can be found today in North Carolina.
Published reports Tuesday indicate that Apple has just gobbled up a heaping help of real estate in the beautiful state of North Carolina. Why? To further augment the company's rapidly expanding solar power aspirations.
Local media explains it this way: The City of Claremont approved Monday night a development agreement with Apple Inc. to annex land into the city for a new solar farm.
The same report notes that the 100 acres of land procured by Apple is worth over $1.4 million. If all goes as planned, this property will be Apple's third solar farm in the region.
With Apple planning to make solar power the cornerstone of its retail and corporate operations, expect to see more solar farm expansion by Apple in the years to follow.
