  • Apple Shares Preparation Video for San Francisco Pride Parade

In late June, San Francisco held its 44th annual Pride parade where several companies, including Apple, marched in support of the LGBT community. Apple CEO Tim Cook attended the event and walked alongside Apple’s Environment Director Lisa Jackson and thousands of other Apple employees. Employees wore special T-shirts for the event and handed out iTunes gift cards, good for a free song download.

The Cupertino California company has now posted a new video of the event on its YouTube channel, depicting the company’s preparation for the parade, which included the aforementioned T-shirts, a pre-event celebration, special bicycles and thousands of rainbow-colored flags. The song played in the background of the video is Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars.”

The following was mentioned regarding the video:

On June 29, thousands of Apple employees and their families marched in the San Francisco Pride Parade. They came from around the world -- from cities as far as Munich, Paris, and Hong Kong -- to celebrate Apple's unwavering commitment to equality and diversity. Because we believe that inclusion inspires innovation
Cook has expressed a deep belief in equality in the past, supporting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which successfully added lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals to the US’ existing nondiscrimination law. He also spoke at Auburn University in December of 2013, noting that Apple has long has protections for LGBT employees. Furthermore, during the Pride event, Cook tweeted a congratulations to the 5,000 Apple employees and their families that attended the parade, saying “inclusion inspires innovation,” the same line later used in the video.

I wonder what the next trendy cultural fashion will be that all companies and politicians will bow down to and fake support for just to be "in" with the people?

HA!^^ I would tend to agree. I don't know many that were raised to embrace the above. At the same time in today' culture it is popular and profitable. Two things the money hungry vultures feed on.

You speak like there is no meaningful justification for this kind of support. Learn from the video's message. It's very obviously stated; "Inclusion inspires innovation." Everybody looks for their own interests. A companies promote diversity and a healthy work environment which includes everybody without discrimination. At the end, they aim for profit. Politicians want people's vote. They will bend their *** backwards for vote. At the end, it all works because they represent people; they are the current image of what our society is. Yesterday they voted for banning same sex marriage; today they are doing the opposite. Hopefully, this is evolution. If you are not happy with it, adapt or go live with a closed culture like the natives from the Amazon jungle. Oh wait, they are pretty open to homosexuality! Sorry.
