  • iWork Pages Ported to iPhone

By now I'm sure you've heard of iWork from Apple. When the iPad was released, Apple released iWork Apps, such as Pages, as iPad only apps. Pages is an easy to use type program similar to Word. Yes, the screenshot above is messy, but its work in progress, and it's great news for the modding community.

Until now, this app was only available for the iPad, but with a little bit of hacking, some Plist modifications and some patience, the app has now been ported to the iPhone by Steve Troughton-Smith. While all this testing has been done on an iPhone 4, stroughtonsmith has put some hard work into porting the app, and he believes that it will be fully iOS 4 compatible.

At this point, things don't quite fit, but thats understandable, knowing this App was originally intended for the iPad and it's higher resolution. It has been noted though that Apple may possibly release an official version for the iPhone 4 and iOS 4, but until then, stroughtonsmith has brought something unique to the iPhone users.

If you want to stay up to date with stroughtonsmith's work, follow him on twitter.

Maybe I am wrong then. If so, could you explain how he got Netflix and MyWi running on a stock i4?

When You first open “Pages” you are greeted with a very smooth, sleek, fresh interface that is pretty much typical of the style of Apple.

There is a handy “Getting Started” documnet that comes pre-installed in this app which familiarizes the user with some of the main features of this app which is a very nice touch for the novice user.

To create a new documetn simply press the “+” icon on the screen that same icon will also allow you to import an existing document from iTunes, iDisk, and / or WebDAV — the latter of which is a slightly odd inclusision but it is useful for some people.

Once you choose “Create New Document” you are presented with a few various template designs which include things such as resume’, classic letter, syllabus, and a few other documents but like most office suites you can also choose to open a blank template.
