Music company’s Beats by Dr. Dre headphones has released a World Cup promo starring the iPhone 5s, after Apple’s announcement on the $3 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics and Beats Music. The deal is expected to be finalized later this year. The most recent ad features a five-minute film for the new Solo2 and packs in big-name athletes wearing the headsets in the time leading up to a game. The reason this ad is different from previous ones is because it not only features the new headphones but it is being powered by the Apple iPhone 5s.
The new video is titled “The Game Before the Game” and is a 5-minute olde to the World Cup. According to AdAge, due to Beats not being an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, they are not allowed to mention the event by name. Big name Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr. stars in the ad. Beats chief marketing officer, Omar Johnson, states:
We decided to do something that only Beats could do. he pre-game rituals on display are authentic. It's all real. Nothing is make-believe.
Johnson has stated, "he's going to be all over the place.” Meanwhile a Beats spokeswoman added, "he's part of the Beats family."
