  • Customize the Control Center/Lock Screen Music Widget With 'Music Controls Customizer'

If you ever wanted to customize the way that your Music Controls on the Lock Screen or in Control Center looked, then you may want to take a peek at a completely new free jailbreak tweak called Music Controls Customizer by iOS developer farfromrefuge.

This tweak will allow you to have full control over what kinds of things are allowed to show in the Music Controls in either Control Center or on the Lock Screen, such as hiding and showing certain things, making the album art look a certain way, and transparency options. Above, you can see some examples of the changes we were able to make with Music Controls Customizer.

Music Controls Customizer adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure all of the options for the Lock Screen and Control Center individually. You will also have to set your default Music application, which can be the Stock Music application, or a third-party App Store music application:

For the settings on the Lock Screen, you will be able to do the following:

    • Enable or disable album artwork for the background
    • Enable or disable scaling the album artwork to fit the Lock Screen
    • Configure the opacity of the album artwork
    • Configure the default text of the music widget when no music is playing
    • Hide or show the music progress bar, information about the track, the music controls, and the volume control
    • Enable or disable music gestures
    • Enable or disable one tap to open if no music is playing

For the settings in Control Center, you will be able to do the following:

    • Enable or disable album artwork for the background
    • Enable or disable scaling the album artwork to fit the Lock Screen
    • Configure the opacity of the album artwork
    • Configure the default text of the music widget when no music is playing
    • Hide or show the music progress bar, information about the track, the music controls, and the volume control
    • Enable or disable music gestures
    • Hide Control Center when playing or pausing music
    • Enable or disable one tap to open if no music is playing

If you enable music gestures, you will be getting the following gesture features added to your device:

    • Long-press to open the stock Music application
    • Swipe left to play the previous track
    • Swipe right to play the next track
    • Single-tap to open the song

If you'd like to start customizing how your music widget on the Lock Screen and in Control Center looks and behaves, then Music Controls Customizer is an adequate place to begin. It's completely free, so at least if you decide that the tweak isn't for you, you won't have to worry about being out any money. Music Controls Customizer is also open source and the source code can be viewed on GitHub at this link.

If you would like to give Music Controls Customizer a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. iOS 7 is required for the install.

Note: AppList is a required dependency to use this tweak, unfortunately, the developer forgot to include AppList as a dependency. If you don't already have AppList installed, it will be necessary for you to install AppList manually from Cydia to use this tweak. The developer will fix this in a future update.

This is just what I have been looking for. I prefer Slacker Radio and this allows me to control it from NC! Thanks for the tweak!

Anthony, why don't you ever directly link so tapping it launches the package in cydia?
