  • 'VintageKeys' Lets You Choose the Keyboard Style You Want to Use for Each App

If you're experiencing severe nostalgia after upgrading to iOS 7 and wish you could have your iOS 6 keyboard back, then iOS developer Ryan Petrich has just the jailbreak tweak for you.

New in Cydia is a free jailbreak tweak called VintageKeys that allows you to enable any of the keyboards pictured above for any of your applications installed on your iOS device. You can choose from the light flat keyboard, the dark flat keyboard, the light legacy keyboard, or the dark legacy keyboard.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure the keyboard style on a per-application basis:

Depending on the application user interface style, you might like to have the light version or the dark version of a keyboard enabled, so this flexibility is always useful.

    The tweak requires iOS 7.

VintageKeys is made available for free in Ryan Petrich's beta repository. If you want to add VintageKeys to your jailbroken iOS device, add Ryan Petrich’s beta repository by following the steps below:

    • tap on the Manage tab

It's very good to be able to force the new keyboard style on older apps that were stuck with the old iOS6 keyboard. An option to have the improved 7.1 keyboard would be nice
