  • iTwin - Jailbreakless Way to Access Your iPhone's Info

Just released is iTwin v1.4Final, a Windows app which lets you access your iPhone's db's from your PC, in a decent UI. The author describes the app as

iTwin can read your databases in two different ways. If your device is 'jailbroken' then you have instant access to your data via 'WiFi'. The second way is by analysing the 'iTunes-Backup-Files', where it is not nessesary to have a 'modified' iPhone or iPod Touch !
No OS X version is listed, nor is one planned it seems. All you Windows folks may enjoy this one though. The "no jailbreak" option is a bit less than 100% accurate - it works from your iTunes Backup Files, as stated. That's great as long as you sync often - otherwise you're looking at old info. You should be syncing often anyway.

The app could be a great way to have a separate backup of important info somewhere, or just to have your info handy if you prefer a larger screen for viewing.

      Rescuer,

To put in English, click on tab at top that says "Einstellungen" (Settings), then click on the drop down box under "Sprache" (Speak) and select "English". Now you should be able to Leze!

If this solved helped out, click "Bedankt!" (Thanks!)

For all the mac users I'd bet money it would work through a VM or bootcamp.

      I think/hope we're seeing a beta version of a future iTunes replacement.

      Hi everybody ...
I am the author of this little program. I just want to let you know, that i am aware of the integer-bug (ist kein gultiger integerwert) and i also know, that there is still a problem with unicode characters. So no chinese / japanese / korean etc. for the moment ... sorry, but i will do my best. But i need your help. 1st: Use my forum to state your problems and your ideas, because this thread is not the best place to collect all that and 2nd: In order to correct the integer-bug i need a faulty database (Calendar.sqlitedb) out of your data-folder because i can not simulate (and find) this bug without. I know, that it contains your private data, but maybe somebody doesn't care ... I promise, i will delete it after i found the bug. 3rd: I need a few more people who like to test a beta-version from time to time. Interested ? Register on my site. Thanks for your help and your feedback. And please, don't hesitate to ask in english.
      Cheers ... SittingDuck

I just posted the problem on your forum (new user Mes). I'm happy to provide a Calendar.db. I'ld rather not post it here on MMI for public consumption, but will be happy to send via email.

right click on desktop icon and

      RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

its not a faulty db or anything just a vista permissions problem.

i get a invalid date error and cant seem to set date and time zone but just click ok and it seems to work still

works great very nice cant edit anything but very nice for backups i like it.

p.s. btw i used the SSH method to import the databases

I don't think it's an issue with Vista. I am running XP SP3 and ran it as administrator on there and got the same error as I got in the beginning. I get 2 errors when opening it and it's not all in English either. The first error is “‘03.11.2006’ ist kein guliges Datum”. I hit okay to that and it opens. If I go to import and I can select a database and click copy files and it goes through and says finished but then the error pops up again. My contacts did show but I can not edit or do anything with them nor can I export them. I have not tried to SSH yet since I’m getting to many errors this way.

I guess a few to many people liked this program because the site seems down! (Ich schätze, dass einige zu vielen Leuten dieses Programm mochten, weil der Aufstellungsort unten scheint!)

Have tried in IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Konqueror and nothing.

Perhaps someone can email it to me? If you can please zip it for me before you do.

      Thanks.
