How to Add a Calculator Widget to Your Installation of ProWidgets
Back in March, we reviewed a new jailbreak tweak called ProWidgets by iOS developer Alan Yip, which integrated a number of handy widgets right into the iOS 7 operating system. ProWidgets is extensible, so that means third-party developers can create their own widgets to offer in Cydia as add-ons for the tweak. Already, we've seen plenty of third-party widgets for ProWidgets – the most recent being Fantastical ProWidget
Another new ProWidgets add-on called Calculator ProWidget
is now available in Cydia by iOS developer Tim Perin that allows you to perform quick mathematical calculations from anywhere, as shown above.
The widget comes with a "Copy" button at the top right of the widget so that you can easily copy the mathematical output, which can be useful when the output is long or in scientific notation. The "Close" button at the top left of the widget allows you to cancel what you're doing and close out of the Calculator ProWidget when you're finished using it.
Just like we told you in our March review of ProWidgets, there are several different ways of opening different widgets via the platform. If you're an Activator fan, then you can assign an Activator action to Calculator ProWidget. Alternatively, you can use CCLoader to add a quick shortcut to Control Center, or you can configure some of the built-in ProWidgets shortcuts for Notification Center without installing more tweaks like we did below:
Calculator ProWidget is a free download from Cydia's BigBoss repository, but if you don't already have ProWidgets installed, it's a $2.99 purchase from Cydia's BigBoss repository. ProWidgets is required to use Calculator ProWidget, and it requires iOS 7 to be installed.
