  • Report: FreedomPop to Offer iPhone 5

According to published reports late Monday, up and coming mobile carrier FreedomPop is ready to support Apple's iPhone and will offer an array of low-cost and even free plans that are available for iPhones that work on Sprint's network.

“This is going to be a big step for us,” CEO Stephen Stokols is quoted by Re/Code. Previously, FreedomPop’s service was limited to Android models (and older models, at that).

The company will offer “like-new” refurbished iPhone 5 handsets directly for $349, while customers can also bring their own Sprint-compatible iPhone 4, 4s or iPhone 5.
Based on the few details presently known, it looks like FreedomPop’s "free plan" packs 200 voice minutes, 500 text messages and 500 megabytes of data per month. Affordable paid plans start at just $5/month.

Comments from Stokols suggest that the company has wrangled hundreds of thousands of new customers since October when the mobile phone service was launched.

I've been strongly looking at FreedomPop, and this would sweeten the deal. Anyone have experience with them?

I use their Photon WiFi hotspot, it uses Sprint's WiMax tech. so Coverage is a bit limited, but works where I live. They provide 500 MB free data and another 500 MB that you can get by adding friends to your list (google it). So esentially I get ~ 1GB of hotspot data for free every month.
