Rather than slide on your iOS 7 Lock Screen to unlock your device to the Home Screen, you can now tap the Lock Screen once with a new jailbreak tweak called TapToUnlock7
by iOS developer drewsdunne.
Shown above, the tweak replaces the traditional slide to unlock with a new tap to unlock button that you can tap on to unlock the device. Importantly, you can also configure the tweak so you can tap anywhere on the Lock Screen and not just in the small, confining button.
TapToUnlock7 comes with a variety of options to configure so you can make it act and look the way you like. You'll find those options in a new preferences pane that is added to the Settings application, as shown below:
From the preferences pane, you will be able to enable or disable the tweak on demand – if you do this, you will need to respring the device for it to take effect, which is why a respring button is provided for you.
There are also options for configuring the behavior of the tweak, such as disabling slide to unlock so that you have to tap to unlock, enable tapping anywhere to unlock (rather than forcing yourself to tap on a button), and showing or hiding the little chevron >
In terms of aesthetics, the tweak comes with a variety of options for making it look the way you like. There are theming options, such as setting your own image, configuring the frame border, the height and width, configuring the unlock text, and configuring the color and opacity.
With all of these options available, not only can you get the convenience of tapping to unlock, but you'll be able to make the tweak look as good as it works. The developer notes that the tweak works on iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads – both 32-bit and 64-bit. It does require iOS 7 to be installed. If you would like to give it a try, it's available right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99¢!
