  • Apple's iPad Carries a Strong 77% of Web Usage Share in Second Quarter of 2014

Apple's iPad is proving to be quite the popular Web surfing tablet according to Web traffic data collected by a Web traffic analytics firm called Chitkia. In fact, it's leading the pack with 77% of the Web usage share, followed by Samsung tablets at 8%, Amazon tablets at 7%, and other miscellaneous brands at 2% and lower.

While that's a very major chunk of the mobile Web usage, Chitika also notes that the current Web usage share is a small drop from one year ago, at which the iPad had 81% of the Web usage share. This can be attributed to Samsung's tablets, which have grown from 4% to 8% Web usage share within the last year.

The data collected only comes from Canada and the United States, not the remaining counties around the globe, but the stunning numbers show that Apple's iPad remains the preferred tablet for those looking for a decent mobile Web surfing solution.

Apple currently offers two different iPad models the iPad Air, which is a full-sized iPad with a 9.7-inch retina display, and the iPad Mini with retina display, which has a 7.9-inch retina display. Both devices are plenty powerful and carry a dual-core 64-bit A7 chip. They can be had in both cellular and Wi-Fi, or just Wi-Fi only models.
