  • 'Slide2Lock' Lets You Lock Your Device By Sliding Down on the Home Screen

A new free jailbreak tweak called Slide2Lock by iOS developer Suu is now available in Cydia that allows you to slide down on the Home Screen to lock your iOS device.

Using the tweak is very simple. You can just grab anywhere on your Home Screen and slide downwards, and your Lock Screen will suddenly appear; your device is now locked.

This is a handy tweak for anyone with a broken lock button at the top of their device that wants an easy way to lock their device without having to wait for the device to time out and auto-lock, unfortunately it will disable SpotLight search on the Home Screen.

Slide2Lock doesn't come with any options to configure, you'll be able to download the tweak and start using it immediately. If you'd like to try it, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

    Name: Slide2Lock
    Price: FREE
    Version: 0.0.2-2
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.0.6
Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.6
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Suu

For those thinking about installing this tweak, just know that you can't access Search on your phone anymore...when you pull down it locks the phone. I don't know if the developer thought about that, but it should be mentioned in the article.

The best solution is still how QuickLock worked - just an icon on the springboard, you press it and the screen turns off immediately.

I don't know why someone doesn't make it again. It was one of my must-have jailbreak tweaks for years.

Why don't they just make it slide up to lock? Problem solved.

      Agreed!

That's what I was thinking right after discovering Spotlight Search didn't work with it. It's probably the best solution.

But that would disable control center, in general it's a lose lose situation, but if I had to pick, I would probably lose spotlight search, for the many years I've had ios devices, I have only ever used spotlight search a matter of about 3 times!

I use a button inside CC for this. No compromises.

How About move the battery icon over, and put a lock icon, and then when ever you need to lick [EDIT: Lock] anywhere with a status bar, you tap, the red lock turns in to a green check to confirm the action, click the check, it locks, if you wait say, 5 seconds the lock goes back. I was also thinking a fade effect for each transition, and if you need more options hold the icon, and a pop up windows with power options appear. Plus, if possible, maybe just maybe, use activator so when you hold in the top right of the screen in a full screen app, the little lock appears and you can use it normally, plus it could show the time too. I would code it myself but I can't write tweaks well, I'm a Java (Mac/PC), Python, C++(Barely) and LUA. so yeah anyone is welcome to make this, I don't care for credit.

No it wouldn't. CC requires slide up from bottom. Try sliding up from the center of your screen. Nothing!
