Public Beta of Reeder 2 RSS Client for Mac OS X Now Available
Although Google Reader shut down quite some time ago
, there are plenty of alternative RSS services today that are alive and strong.
The highly popular Reeder 2 RSS Client for iOS was brought to iOS 7
early in the public release of the operating system last year with support for those alternative RSS services, but notably, there hasn't been any Mac OS X version of the application to speak of.
On Friday, however, that changed. The developer of the popular Reeder 2 application has released a free public beta of Reeder 2 for Mac OS X and it fully supports OS X Mavericks. The interface is very familiar to those using the Reeder 2 application on iOS, and it supports all of the following RSS services:
- Feedbin syncing
- Feedly syncing
- Feed Wrangler syncing
- Fever syncing
- Readability syncing
- Local/standalone RSS (no sync)
While the public beta is free, when the application comes out of beta it is expected to be a paid application and is expected to be offered in the Mac App Store. If you want to participate in the free public beta of Reeder 2 for Mac OS X, you can grab it from the developer's Web site at this link
