On Tuesday, Twitter announced an upcoming profile redesign with new features and looks that will soon be applied to all user's Twitter accounts.
At this point in time, the new redesign has been applied to a small number of Twitter accounts, including @AFL, @flotus, @JohnLegend, and even @twitter. You can follow the links to see what these profiles look like and how to interact with them.
Those creating new Twitter accounts will see the redesigned profile style immediately, while those that are currently using Twitter already will see the new profile style applied to their account sometime in the future as it rolls out to all users.
Aesthetics are huge part of the new profile redesign; noticeable right off the bat are the larger profile pictures and longer header images. Twitter notes that the new profile style is not only better looking, but also gives users a few handy new features, including the following:
- Best Tweets: Tweets that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find.
- Pinned Tweet: Pin one of your Tweets to the top of your page, so itís easy for your followers to see what youíre all about.
- Filtered Tweets: Now you can choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles. Select from these options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.
