If you listen to music often on your iOS device(s) and you're looking for a way to spice up the appearance of the album artwork on your iOS 7 Lock Screen, then look no further than a new jailbreak tweak dubbed CustomCover by iOS developer Charlie Hewitt.
With CustomCover, you can basically theme the appearance of the album artwork image on your iOS 7 Lock Screen. The tweak comes with a number of preset themes that you can pick from, and it includes a few miscellaneous features as well. Above, you can see some examples of the album artwork themes that you can apply; (Left to Right: CD Case, Ripped, Clean, Circle). This will work for both the built-in Music application, and third-party music applications that you might use from the App Store (such as Spotify or Pandora).
The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can adjust the various appearance options:
From the Theme cell, you can pick the theme that you will apply to your Lock Screen album artwork image. You are given the following themes to pick from:
- CD Case
- Vinyl Mini
From the Other Settings cell, you can configure a few additional options, such as the ability to hide the media controls from the Lock Screen, the ability to disable the blur behind the album artwork, and the ability to set the album artwork as the wallpaper. Below, we've enabled all three settings to show you what this may look like:
Notably, all changes that you make from the preferences pane take effect immediately and a respring is not necessary.
CustomCover is very polished and it works as good as it looks. There are a number of different themes and options to keep just about any customization-happy jailbreaker out there happy. If you would like to give CustomCover a try, it's available for 99¢*in Cydia's ModMyi repository. The tweak works on iOS 7 on all iOS devices.
