Apple’s Maps Flyover feature was expanded recently and offers interactive 3D, picture-realistic views to three new cities. The three new locations include Cordoba located in Spain, Perth located in Australia, and Saint-Tropez located in France. The feature was introduced by Apple in iOS 6 and has been expanding coverage slowly. Some other locations that were added earlier this year include Cape Town-South Africa, Marseille- France, and Helsinki-Finland.
If you are currently in these cities and are interested in the feature, simply launch the Maps app and follow these steps:
- Click the info (i) button located at the bottom right-hand corner
- Choose the view you would prefer; Satellite or Hybrid
- This should allow you to see a high-resolution image of the place you are viewing and come across this icon. Click that icon and you will enter Flyover mode.
Using gestures could modify your views. The Flyover feature is available as of right now on the iPad 2 or later, iPhone 4s or later, 5th generation iPod Touch, and the iPad Mini.
