  • 'CustomSpotlightText' Lets You Change the Placeholder Text in SpotLight

If you've ever had the desire of changing the placeholder text that appears in the SpotLight text field in iOS 7, then check out a new free jailbreak tweak called CustomSpotlightText by iOS developer Josh Doctors.

With this tweak installed, you can change that placeholder text to anything you want to, as shown above.

CustomSpotlightText adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure what the placeholder text in SpotLight will say:

Just type in what you want to appear in the SpotLight search text box and then tap on the save button for it to take effect.

If you use SpotLight for something such as searching through Spotify's music catalogs with SpotiSearch instead of searching your iPhone for things, then this tweak could be a nice little combination for saying "Search Spotify" instead of "Search iPhone."

If you would like to give CustomSpotlightText a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. It does require iOS 7 to be installed.
