United Airlines recently announced a nice treat for iPhone and iPad users who fly with their airlines. Going forward, iPhone and iPad users will be offered free in-flight entertainment with a wide range of movies and TV shows to choose from. The entertainment will be available to all users who have the United Airlines app installed on their iPhone or iPad. Users will have the option to pick from over 150 movies and 200 TV shows and can pause, rewind, forward or skip to a new movie whenever they want.
The service is also said to be accessible for notebook users as well but with a browser plugin. Fortunately, the service doesn’t require users to pay for a separate Wi-Fi connection from United, which means basically anybody can access the service.
The company’s official statement regarding the matter mentioned the following:
Most planes will be equipped with the new system very soon, and we’ll have it installed on most domestic aircraft by the end of 2014. We’ll begin on Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Boeing 747-400 and select 777-200 aircraft, followed by additional fleets. In the end, all United-operated flights will have some form of entertainment.
