GoDaddy is the latest to join many other companies in hiring Apple execs for their board of directors. Some of the other well-known companies include Ferrari, Nike, Goldman Sachs, and Vail Ski Resorts. GoDaddy has named former Apple chief accounting officer, Betsy Rafael, as the first female member to join the board at a small-business technology provider company. Rafael has stated that diversity in experiences and ideas play an important role for a company:
As people know, itís always easier to have a conversation with 10 people who are exactly like you because nobody disagrees with you. But on behalf of doing the right thing for a company, having diversity of thought and experience is hugely valuable.
Rafael was first introduced to the company through a colleague, and from there, she met CEO Blake Irving. Before joining Apple, Rafael was finance vice president for company Cisco Systems. Along with being on the GoDaddy board, she also serves on the boards of Autodesk and Echelon. Letís see which Apple exec will be the next to go and jump to another big company!
