Retired NBA player, Shaquille O’Neal has been at the SXSW event in Austin, Texas talking tech and it’s been reported that he is somewhat of an application addict. Reported by The Wall Street Journal in a video, Shaq admitted that he spends roughly $1000 a week on games and apps for his iPhone. “I probably spend $1,000 on apps a week,” O’Neal told The Wall Street Journal.
Shaq is a big tech fan, particularly for Apple and is waiting for the release of the iWatch. He stated that he even called former Apple CEO, Steve Jobs personally asking for products like the iPhone and iPod before it was open to the public. Shaq said the following regarding the matter:
I’ve always been a tech geek. I’m not ashamed to say I’m a geek at heart...last week I bought like 20 deer hunter games. I like hunting the deer on my phone.
