Apple TV Gets Body Slammed with Today's Update
On Monday morning, Apple users began experiencing frustration with a new channel delivered to their set-top box today.
As MMi reported earlier this month, WWE reached a deal in recent weeks to bring its new streaming digital platform called the WWE Network to iOS devices and Apple TV when the network formally launches on February 24th. Now that the start-date has arrived, the channel has become available. But it's not working.
And it's not Apple's fault.
According to a message posted on the wrestling company's official webpage, demand for the new channel has been so strong that the system is presently on overload and incapable of registering new users.
If you're not familiar, the network in question will feature all 12 WWE live pay-per-view events, including this April's presentation of WrestleMania XXX. The channel will run $9.99 per month (with a 6-month commitment). WWE says its network will also include original programming, reality shows, documentaries, classic matches and some 1,500 hours of video on demand at launch.
WWE expects the sign-up problems to be resolved shortly.
