  • 'Springshot' Adds a WebOS-like Animation to the iOS 7 App Switcher

Normally when you go into the iOS 7 App Switcher, you swipe up on the application preview cards for them to be closed. A new free jailbreak tweak called Springshot by iOS developer Adam Bell changes the way you close your App Switcher applications by taking some inspiration from WebOS.

With this tweak installed, you can swipe downwards on applications in the iOS 7 App Switcher, and they'll appear to bounce right back into place before rocketing up towards the top of the display and then closing. The tweak is named what it is because the application preview card shoots up towards the top of the display like a slingshot, but the name plays off of the word "SpringBoard" with that in mind.

Springshot is a completely aesthetic tweak and doesn't offer much functionality to iOS that isn't already there, but if you're into the idea of customization, then Springshot might be worth taking a look at.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand:

If you want to give Springshot a try, it's available right now for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository. Springshot is open source and all of its source code can be viewed on Github. You must have iOS 7 installed to use this tweak.
