  • Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.7, available via Software Update

After releasing a slew of beta builds to developers as far back as January, Apple has updates Snow Leopard to version 10.6.7, and released it to the public. The update comes in at 312 MB, or as a 1.12 GB combo update download from stock Snow Leopard 10.6. According to the install notes, the update particularly affects Windows File Sharing (SMB), "various minor Mac App Store bugs," and fixes bugs for Back to My Mac.

I've installed it on my 2011 MacBook Pro and can report no glaring issues at all with the install (it's never a bad idea to wait a day or two after a software update, just in case there's a bug or two that could be avoided simply by waiting). I tested a file share and screen share via another iMac via Back to My Mac, and can report no problems.

As with any OS update, having a backup of your important data is always good. The update requires a reboot. You can access the download via Software Update or by heading here.

You do know that you can get a student version that has all the same features for $200? Right?

Let me get this straight...cause youre poor its ok to steal software?

And when someone points this out youre "".
To be clear...you have stolen software.

He did not put himself above everyone else, he let you know he is honest and law-abiding...and put you below everyone else.

I recommend that the moderator delete all posts referencing cracked apps as I am sure this is not something they wish to condone. If they're gone the conversation will return to its target.

My Update didn't include the FaceTime update (cos I don't have it installed perhaps) or the graphics update.
I don't feel any change to be honest

In the interest of being clear, downloading software that you are not entitled to is not theft, but copyright infringement. Theft is depriving someone of a physical item. When you download a file, you are obtaining a copy, not taking away an original. The United States Supreme Court actually made such a ruling, so there is precedent to support this.

Stealing software is theft, and illegal piracy of someone else.
Illegal and according to USA Supreme Court, and DMCA exemptions say that
illegal distribution and/or stolen is illegal, and could result of jail and fines of large amounts of money!
TALK ABOUT PIRACY AND CRACKED APPS IS NOT ALLOWED HERE, AND WILL RESULT IN INFRACTIONS! BACK TO THE TOPIC

"Stealing software" is taking a package from a store you didn't pay for, whereas downloading or otherwise copying software you are not entitled to is copyright infringement (aka: software pirating.) I do not condone either one, both are illegal, but there is a distinction between them, just as there is between murder and manslaughter, for instance.

Ok, pirating is copyright infrigiment is basically the same thing.
