  • Apple Releases Safari 5.0.4 with Host of Tweaks

On the heels of Apple releasing iOS 4.3, Safari 5.0.4 was also rolled out Wednesday. Delivering a number of stability tweaks relating to plug-ins, bug fixes, and compatibility upgrades, Safari 5.0.4 is here and available now for download from Apple and, of course, via Mac OS X via Software Update.

    - Improved stability for webpages with multiple instances of plug-in content
    - Improved compatibility with webpages with image reflections and transition effects
    - A fix for an issue that could cause some webpages to print with incorrect layouts
    - A fix for an issue that could cause content to display incorrectly on webpages with plug-ins
    - A fix for an issue that could cause a Screen Saver to appear while video is playing in Safari
    - Improved compatibility with VoiceOver on webpages with text input areas and lists with selectable items
    - Improved stability when using VoiceOver

Safari, version 5.0.3, was released four months ago and similarly improved upon security and stability issues. Apple hasn't delivered a major update to Safari in almost ten months. The last Safari revamp came in June 2010 with the release of Safari 5.

I've tried them all. I still like FF mostly. Chrome is faster, but overall I like FF for the rest. The plugins, themes, etc. I'm still waiting for Safari to be faster as stated above than FF!!!

Yawn. It's still too bloated for my liking. Besides Chrome and Firefox have hosts of plug-ins and themes, which I really like. I mean come on who doesn't like matching their web browser with the rest of the theme of your UI?

On my mac I only use safari...but on my pc i will use 1) Opera 2) Chrome 3) FireFox

I've noticed that most businesses seem to use FireFox or IE when personal users tend to use Chrome

I hate to see a cluttered Applications folder on my Mac....so I don't download any other web browsers it

I love safari! I don't know! It just looks really good! And it's faster than Internet explorer on my computer, cuz Internet explorer messes up every time I try to use it!

Performance, speed, and extensions. Firefox and Chrome are great at all three, Chrome a little more on the speed part. I personally love the extension choice I have with Firefox. It's really up to the user and want you like/want with a browser.

Am i part of the few that use Opera? I do use Firefox also, but for some reason Opera performs well for me. Firefox still locks up on some Flash sites for some reason. At least for me it does.
