  • 'IPPeek' Gives You a Way to Easily See Your Wi-Fi IP Address From Anywhere

There's no denying that having access to your Wi-Fi IP address can be handy. If you need to know your IP address for some reason, it can be cumbersome going into the Wi-Fi settings of your iOS device just to find that IP address each and every time. It would be nice to have a simpler solution.

A new free add-on for Activator called IPPeek by iOS developer magn2o allows you to easily hide or show your Wi-Fi IP address in the Status Bar, as shown above.

With this add-on installed, all you will do is head over to your Activator preferences pane in the Settings application, then pick an action you want to use, and assign it to IPPeek, as shown below:

In this instance, we've set IPPeek to toggle on or off by double-tapping the Status Bar, so now, each time we double-tap on the Status Bar, the Status Bar will alternate between showing the time and the current Wi-Fi IP address.

It's important to note that this add-on only works for the Wi-Fi IP address and not for a cellular network. If you have Wi-Fi turned off, and then you try to use this tweak, nothing will happen. Wi-Fi must be turned on and you must be connected to a Wi-Fi network for this add-on to work.

IPPeek is a handy little tool for anyone that wants quick access to their IP Address. It's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository. If you don't have Activator installed already, it will be installed at the time that you install IPPeek. The add-on does require iOS 7.

I prefer ShowIP for Notification Center -- that also displays the SSID and is but a swipe away.

To ping your phone. Or to log into it.
