'SwitcherBlur' Blurs All of Your App Switcher Application Preview Cards in iOS 7
If you use PayPal for iOS, then you're probably familiar with the way that the application preview card blurs itself in the multitasking App Switcher for security purposes. This way, when you're in the App Switcher, people around you can't see your confidential asset information when you're not even using the application.
iOS developer Julian Weiss has taken this security concept to a new level by letting users apply a similar blur effect to all of their application preview cards with a new free jailbreak tweak called SwitcherBlur
, as shown above.
With this tweak installed, you can be sure that no one around you can see any of your private Facebook News Feed, Twitter Feed, text messages, or other private information that is shown in the application preview cards for these applications while you're using the App Switcher, but the blur is weak enough that you can still discern for yourself what the application preview cards represent. You also still have the application icons at the bottom of the App Switcher to help you discern what the applications are.
Apart from this blur effect, SwitcherBlur doesn't change anything else about the iOS 7 App Switcher. It might come in handy in some cases where you want to be a little more secretive. The tweak is available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository if you want to give it a try. The tweak has no options to configure.
