We recently showed you a way to add your favorite contacts to Notification Center in iOS 7
, but if you don't want to be cluttering up your Notification Center, then you can add them to the SpotLight interface instead with a new jailbreak tweak called QuickContacts
by iOS developer DarkMalloc.
What this tweak will do is let you open the SpotLight interface from the home screen, and from there you'll be brought to an interface that gives you quick access to your favorite contacts. You can swipe to the right while in the QuickContacts interface to bring up SpotLight and the keyboard, or you can swipe to the left to see more of your favorite contacts; you can have up to 8 of them.
Your favorite contacts are set by tapping on the placeholders in the interface. Once you tap on one, you'll be brought to a list of your contacts, and you'll need to tap on a contact name to add it to your QuickContacts interface. Their contact photo will show up in the interface when the contact is added. If you want to change an existing favorite contact, you will need to tap and hold on one to change it to another contact.
Once you have all, or at least some, of your favorite contacts added to the QuickContacts interface, you can tap on any of them to easily call, message, or e-mail them. You'll get the polished interface below:
QuickContacts is a slick way to access any of your favorite contacts from the home screen. Not only is it functionally useful, but it looks iOS 7-esque, almost like it belongs there. The tweak is compatible with any iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 7.0-7.0.4, but not with any iPads. The tweak has no options to configure. If you want to give it a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for $1.99.
